Love to Tanzania

Traveling is always an adventure and this trip was no exception! Our team of 6 - Tom, Will, Stephen, Ginger, Mab, and Ceallaigh trekked all over Tanzania spreading photo love for 8 days! We have included some highlights here. We have SO many wonderful stories and memories that we would love to share with you! If you are interested in hearing more (because you are headed to Tanzania yourself and want some recommendations, interested in our work, or going on a Print the Love trip, or something else!), let's set up a coffee date! In person or virtually. Email Ceallaigh at ceallaigh@printthelove.org.

Tanzania Trip Highlights:

  • Tanzania is an incredible country - in its people, culture, and natural landscape.

  • We gave away over 2,500 photos! The joy of giving away photos is profound - both for the giver and the receiver.

  • We included protectors with each photo, thanks to a donation from UltraPro! So that the photos can last for generations!

  • Over the 8 days on the ground, we stayed in 4 different cities in Tanzania. We meet such wonderful people and recommend all the lodging! See links below.

  • We gave away photos:

    • At an Infant Orphanage

    • A hospital maternity ward

    • At 8 wonderful schools

    • A Maasai Boma Village

    • At markets and neighborhoods

    • In remote communities

  • In addition, Tom brought along 12 donated soccer balls and pumps to give away at schools which was such fun! We sang songs with kids, had a glimpse Mount Kilimanjaro, visited an animal park where you can interact the animals, viewed the amazing night sky, fell asleep to the sounds of the zebras outside our tent, touched the oldest human foot print yet discovered, danced with the Maasai people, watched elephants pass by our window, and saw first hand the unique wildlife of wildebeests and flamingos at Lake Natron - the deadly red lake.

  • We also had the incredible opportunity to visit one of the 7 wonders of the world - Serengeti National Park, which means “the place where the land runs on forever”. While we were there we saw a: Lion, Lion cub, African elephant, Massi giraffe, Olive baboon, Banded mongoose, Topi, Common zebra, Superb starling, White-bearded wildebeest, Rock hyrax, Secretary bird, Hippopotamus, Marabou stork, Velvet monkey, Kirk's dik-dik, Nile crocodile, Warthog, Flamingo, Thomson's gazelle, Silver-backed jackal, Lappet-gaced vulture, African eagle, Egret, Black monkey, and African buffalo.

  • Our wonderful drivers, guides, and translators - Bernhard, Abraham, Timothy, and Mike who were was truly incredible! If you are in need of one while in Tanzania, we would happily connect you!

  • And a HUGE thank you to all our amazing donors who donated film!

Here are just a few images for the trip!
