Supply the Love: Tel Aviv

Supply the Love: We supply the camera and film and you supply the love!  We would love to have you be an ambassador of Print the Love! If you are traveling to an under-resourced community anywhere on the globe in the next year and would like to participate in spreading random photo kindness to the local people, lets chat! Together we can make a difference! Application is online.

The Supply the Love program is 100% supported by donors. If you are not travelling, you can still donate funds towards the camera and film for those who are.

As part of the program, we ask that ambassadors write a short description of their experience. All the words are their own.

Memories of love from the red-light district of Tel Aviv

(Images are blurred to protect identities.)

Located in the heart of Tel Aviv's red-light district, The Red Carpet stands as an oasis amidst brothels, drug dealers, addicts, gangs, and homeless individuals. Within this environment of pain and suffering, The Red Carpet Women's Center stands as a safe haven, offering solace and support to homeless women caught in heavy addictions and engaged in prostitution. Within its walls, these women find respite from the streets, receiving essential amenities such as hair and nail treatments, warm showers, clean clothes, and a place to rest. But beyond these provisions, the center extends a compassionate embrace, providing wise counsel, sharing the truth of the gospel, and presenting pathways to healing and rehabilitation.

Throughout the years, numerous friendships have blossomed, and women have come and gone—some seeking rehabilitation, some entering the confines of prison, and others departing from this world. To preserve the memories and cherish the moments shared, ‘Print The Love’ has granted us a unique opportunity. Often, the women are reluctant to have their pictures taken with phones or digital cameras. Yet, when we explain that these images are intended for their own keepsake, they consent and often request to have their pictures taken with each member of our staff. On several occasions, these women have gifted us with these pictures and I see this as a reclaiming a sense of control in a world where they have little say in their own lives, be it influenced by drugs, clients, or the surrounding street environment. In this small act, they regain a semblance of authority over something seemingly trivial.

Another meaningful project that emerged is our memory wall. Often, women express a desire to keep their pictures, and they entrust us with their safekeeping. Over the past five years, we have built a wall adorned with these cherished memories, displaying pictures of the women we have served, who have left their mark on our lives.
